今天是农历正月十五,是中国的传统节日元宵节

一、课文Text

正月也叫元月。正月十五日的晚上是一年中第一个月圆之夜古人把“夜”称为“宵”,所以正月十五被称为“元宵节”。中国人有“正月十五闹元宵”的说法。元宵节这天,人们有丰富节庆活动,如,观花灯、猜灯谜、吃元宵、赏烟花、观看舞龙舞狮表演等。到处充满浓重的节日气氛。元宵节也叫“灯节”,夜晚一到,到处张灯结彩。人们成群结队地去观赏花灯。有的花灯上还写着谜语,引得观灯人争先恐后地去竞猜

除了观灯和猜谜,元宵节最吸引人的要数舞龙灯表演了。龙前由一人持竿领前,竿顶竖一巨球,作为引导。龙首作抢球状,引起龙身游走飞动,场面十分壮观。元宵节有吃元宵的习俗,早在1000多年前的宋朝,就有这种食品了。元宵是一种用糯米粉做成的小圆球,里面包有用和各种果仁做成的馅儿,煮熟后,吃起来香甜可口。北方人称其为“元宵”,是把馅儿放在糯米粉中“滚”成的。而南方人是用糯米粉包成的,称其为“汤圆”。这些名字与“团圆”音近,又逢十五月圆之夜,象征全家人团团圆圆,和睦幸福。人们通过各种形式来庆祝元宵节,寄托未来生活的美好愿望

English Translation

The 15th day of the first month of the lunar calendar is the traditional festival of Lantern Festival in China. The first month (Zheng Yue) is also called Yuan Yue. The night of the 15th of the first month is the first fullmoon of the year. The ancients called "Ye" as "Xiao", so Lantern Festival is called "Yuanxiao Festival" in Chinese. There is a saying in China that Celebrate the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first month. On the Lantern Festival, people have rich festival activities, such as watching lanterns, guessing riddles, eating yuanxiao, enjoying fireworks, watching dragon and lion dance, etc. There is a strong festival atmosphere everywhere. When the night comes, lights are put on everywhere. People flocked to see the lanterns. Some of the lanterns are still with riddles, attracting people to guess.

Apart from lantern watching and riddles guessing, the most attractive part of the festival is the dragon dance. In front of the dragon, a man holds a pole leader, and the pole top stands upright with a giant ball as a guide. Dragon head for rob ball, caused the body of the dragon to wander and fly, the scene is very spectacular. The custom of eating yuanxiao on the Lantern Festival dates back more than 1,000 years to the Song dynasty. Yuanxiao is a small round ball made of glutinous rice flour filled with sugar and nuts. It tastes sweet and delicious. Northerners call it yuanxiao, which is made by"rolling" the filling in glutinous rice flour. People in the south wrap the stuffing with glutinous rice flour skin, called "tangyuan". These names are close to the sound of "Reunion", which means the reunion of the whole family, harmony and happiness. People celebrate the Lantern Festival in various forms and place their wishes for the future life.
